The Mandriva Linux 2005 Limited Edition consists in 9 different CDs and 3 DVDs. I will try to describe the various flavors and their specificities.

The main product, the one you can buy on the Mandriva Store, is based on 2 DVDs, one for 32 bit machines, and one for 64 bit machines. These 2 DVDs are available for Silver (and above) members with the Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-DVD.x86_64.tor rent and the Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-DVD.i586.torre nt.

If you cannot use or download DVD, there are CDs counterparts to these 2 DVDs. There is a 6CDs version for 32 bit machines, available with the Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-6CDs.i586.torr ent and there is a 4 CDs version for x86_64 machines with Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition.x86_64.torrent .

If you do not want to download the 6 CDs at once, you can use the file Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-Club-CD1-CD4.i 586.torrent which gives access to the 4 CDs, including the proprietary drivers and plugins. And, you can guess it, if you have already downloaded the 4 CDs, you can complete your set to the 6 CDs with the Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-Silver-CD5-CD6 .i586.torrent.

With these DVD or these CDs, you should not need extra sources, they contain all you need. Actually they should contain far more than you need, so here are the Mini-CD! The idea is to include in one CD what everyone needs, the installation program, the kernel, the base packages and the X server, and to let you add an extra Internet source to complete your packages list. With the Mini-CD you only download what you really use. This Extra CD could be used as a supplementary CD for the Download Edition (for the not so brave who first wanted to use the 'pure' Download Edition and then suddenly get frustrated by their non accelerated brand new 3D video card, or their non working wifi modem or Adaptec HostRaid Adapter).
